A quick six Fat Quarters makes this easy Streak of Lightning.  Big cuts show off the fabric, and the rectangle shape uses all of the fabric--efficient, and nothing left for the stash scrap bag.  The method of assembly is two simple Nine-Patches.

The patchwork finishes 36"x45", or 42"x 51" with a border.  In addition to the 6 Fat Quarters, you will need 1/2 yard for binding, and 5/8 yard for a 3 1/2" cut border.  If you have 8 Fat Quarters, the extra 2 could be used for a pieced binding.
