A quick six Fat Quarters makes this easy Streak of Lightning.  Big cuts show off the fabric, and the rectangle shape uses all of the fabric--efficient, and nothing left for the stash scrap bag.  The method of assembly is two simple Nine-Patches.

The patchwork finishes 36"x45", or 42"x 51" with a border.  In addition to the 6 Fat Quarters, you will need 1/2 yard for binding, and 5/8 yard for a 3 1/2" cut border.  If you have 8 Fat Quarters, the extra 2 could be used for a pieced binding.

New Cover PAINTED MOON

Dr. Seuss is in the house--a very busy house.  It was time for some fresh new fun for PAINTED MOON, so I chose the Celebrate Seuss fabric from Robert Kaufman.

Preview 26

I haven't posted in forever--it is crunch time for the Spring releases.  Ten new cards by May 13!  Where did the Winter go--many designs on the drawing board, none completely finished.

Now, one is.  I will preview them all here.  The numbers will be out of order--the creative process does not happen in numerical order.

This design is the other half of the old Fryer Patch Two Easy pattern.  KINGS RANSOM was the first half.  Both patterns are big chunky pieces using 12 Fat Quarters, plus 1 yard to fill in the pieced border and binding.

The cover girl is Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane.  Very limey greeney, hand picked by our Jessica.  I had done in previously in Jason Yenter's Bohemian Bedroom, which had a very soft appeal.

Memories by the Yard

While visiting San Antonio yesterday, I popped into a local Quilt Market show.   Memories by the Yard had a beautiful booth there, full of RoseCard merchandise.  Here we have an Iced Tea sample--a nice masculine look in the browns.
The RoseCards are very showy in this tall lucite display.
Their colorful kits make pretty little bundles here.
Don't miss their wonderful shop if you are ever in San Antonio.  In fact, don't miss San Antonio--a great place to visit.

RED ROSE Baby Zoo

Need a baby quilt quick?  A nine block RED ROSE will do the trick.  This is the sweet Zoo Babies line from Windham.  They had given me 5" strips of the whole line--perfect for this pattern.  I could easily make a blue boy or green/yellow neutral, too.  This little cuddler finishes about 41" square, and I can usually fit it on a width of fabric for the back.  Remember your Community Service work with this one, too--I have made some wonderfully colorful kits with scraps.

LOVERS LANE Red and Black

Appropriate for a Valentine's Day post, we're showing off our LOVERS LANE pattern here was used by Dorothy for the first new quilt for her new motorhome.  She bought extra fabric to make it bigger--9 blocks by 12 blocks, to finish 54"x72".

RoseCards for Junior Quilters

Our Pine Tree Quilt Guild offers workshops for junior quilters--unique in Northern California.  Guild members and moms volunteer to help with the projects.  Leader Dianne chose 2 RoseCards this time for project options--TOWER BRIDGE and SARATOGA.  It was great for me to be there and watch the group in action.  Our simply fun quilts were working well for the kids.  Can't wait to show the finished products--they are already doing some fabric variations.
